Even though the holidays have come and gone, there is no need to pack away all your sequins and sparkle. Your festive wear will get a second life soon as sequins reign supreme in Spring 2018.
Sequins are huge news this upcoming spring season. It’s all in large part thanks to the many luxury designers who sent sparkle and shine down the runway during the SS18 fashion weeks in London and New York. Tom Ford and Victoria Beckham showed draw-dropping splashes of sparkle, both signaling that glitter is for every occasion … and season!
And then there was Gucci — my favorite fashion house. In September 2017, Gucci kicked off Milan Fashion Week with crystal-embellished tights and socks, turbans and jackets. I have coveted the Gucci sequin bomber for a while. Am I sad they don’t make it in my size? Nope. Because if they did, I would buy it and my husband would likely put me out in it. LOL!
So what’s a plus size fashionista to do? The next best thing and find a jacket that is almost as fab as the Gucci one. This one is from River Island and I bought it a while ago. Unfortunately, it is no longer available, but I have gathered a collection below for your to shop.
My gold and bronze bomber is a great piece for my new downsized closet. I kept it during my wardrobe purge because it is functional, transitional and quite versatile. Here, I paired it with a bronze pleated skirt (see how I previously styled the skirt) and long sleeve black turtle neck. I played up the black and white striped color, waistband and cuffs by adding a matching clutch and shoes. I can wear this jacket with black pants, with blue jeans and over a dress for even more fabulous looks. That’s why it was a keeper!
If you are a member of The Freehive, then you are quite familiar with my love of all things sequins. I have wrote about it (here, here and here) on the blog often. I mean I am just trying to change the world one sequin at a time.
Here’s wishing you a Sparkling Spring and may all you confetti dreams come true in 2018! Thanks for stopping by.
I totally agree that Sequin is seasonal. If if ain’t, let us make it seasonal😁 It’s so fun, festive, and girly.
Love the look. Not sure I can pull it off.
Thanks for permission. That jacket with some jeans will be the move.
