One of my favorite places to shop before I sized out of their clothes was White House Black Market. I am actually old enough to remember when the stores opened in the early 1990s in Florida, where I grew up. Called The White House at the time, the boutiques offered only all white clothing for a relatively more upscale mall crowd. It was the perfect place to find the perfect white ensembles for every occasion. In the late 90s, the stores begin to incorporate all black clothing into the mix and rebranded itself White House Black Market.
I am such an advocate of classic black and white ensembles that White House Black Market became a must-visit on every trip I made to the mall. And I went to the mall at least 3 times a week easily. Then life happened and I sized completely out of one of my favorite places to shop (insert tears here). I was sick and shut-in for weeks in 2008 when former First Lady Michelle Obama wore the WHMB Tank Leaf Print Dress when she cohosted The View. The $148 dress all but sold out overnight and it was NOT available in plus! Talk about feeling left out of a major moment in American fashion history!
But thanks to the plus size fashion gods I am finally able to once again buy clothing from the brand as they’ve extended their sizes to 24W. You read that right! White House Black Market has expanded into plus, giving a broader audience an opportunity to wear their classic and affordable clothing.
The only downsize? The plus line is offered exclusively online. It is frustrating as hell for so many plus size women when this happens. It is such an inconvenience and more than that, it’s absolutely discriminatory. I buy 95% of my clothes online, so I’m not as affected by this (bad) decision by some brands, I’m confident, however, a change gone come! Especially when you consider 67% of American women are a size 14 and above. (Click here to see me discuss this issue on Morning Express with Robin Meade).
Now, to the look. The Sequin Lace Slim Jeans fit perfectly. No lie. The brand sent me a size 16W and a size 18W. I tried the 16W on first and was pleasantly surprised at how well they hugged my curves. They are extremely flattering as hey fit slim from hip to ankle. Unroll the cuff for a full length leg. The sequins and lace grace the legs like beautiful artwork. I absolutely love these jeans. The Lace Bodice Top fit nicely as well. It is so delicately feminine and romantic. Pairing it with these jeans make a great casual look that can take you from brunch to happy hour.
When you get a chance, take a look at the new plus collection from WHBM. They offer the most perfect plus pieces for dressing up this holiday season — including printed party pants, velvet jackets and party dresses. Check out their full holiday collection available now on WHBM.com.
Love, love, love these jeans. I also loved how you paired them with the peplum top and belt. Makes me want to step my casual holiday game up. As usual, fabulous look!

I absolutely love the slim lace jeans. Being a fabulous and 55 with Thick Thighs finding jeans that fit has always been a problem for me.
I love to dress feminine, sexy, but classy and your style sense has helped me change (update) my closet tremendously.
