Glamping Girls Trip At Kleinhaus Cabin

In celebration of my Forty-Fine birthday, I hosted the ultimate Glamping Girls Trip courtesy of the The Glamping Hub and Kleinhaus Cabin. It was the most perfect 4-day getaway for me and eight of my closest girlfriends, and an experience we won’t soon forget. We laughed a lot, cried a little bit, but most of all we enjoyed our time together just reliving all our childhood slumber parties and college days.

So what exactly is Glamping? The word is a portmanteau of glamour and camping and describes a style of camping with amenities and, in some cases, resort-style services not usually associated with “traditional” camping.

Kleinhaus Cabin, located in the beautiful north Georgia Mountains, offered the perfect accommodations for my Glamping Girls Trip. While the gigantic luxury cabin can sleep up to 14, it felt cozy and comfortable. Saying the home is gorgeous is really an understatement, and the host, Lisa Klein, was so very accommodating and answered all my questions in detail prior to our arrival. You couldn’t ask for a better host! As soon as my girlfriends and I reached the top of the mountain where the home is neatly and discreetly situated, we were in awe. We spent the first 30 minutes outside taking selfies, group shots and going live on Facebook. The views are simply breathtaking.

When you walk through the front door, you realize The Kleins, the home’s owners, put a lot of love into the place. The first thing you notice is the  staircase with its regal real wood railings. I would say the staircase is the centerpiece of the home. It is your welcome gift of sorts.

Kleinhaus Cabin Entry

Kleinhaus Cabin is a 4 bedroom home with the master bedroom on the first floor. The master has a full bathroom with a beautiful tub and a separate tiled shower with seating. As the “guest of honor”, of course the master belonged to me. My bestie Shirlene had determined, like my other girlfriends, that my history of snoring would be problematic on this trip for everyone and they were all grateful not to have to sleep with me on this trip. However, once she saw the master bedroom with its private balcony with rock chairs and spectacular views of the mountains, she announced we’d be sharing the room with me. I guess there are some things that really don’t matter when fabulous accommodations are in store. LOL!

Two of the upstairs bedroom offered full size beds and a shared bathroom. The fourth room housed two sets of bunkbeds and is perfect for Glampers with children. My girlfriends who shared this room felt like they were a part of a huge slumber party at night. This room also has a secret space behind the bookcase (stocked with all the books and games your little ones can imagine). It was such a cute and cozy space.

The home features plenty of upscale amenities including stainless steel appliances, central air and heating, a wood-burning fireplace outside and a gas fireplace. All towels and linens are provided by the host, and a washing machine and a dryer was also available. When we arrived (albeit a little earlier than our checkin time), the housekeeper was there and worked around us after seeing how excited we were about the property. She gave us directions to the grocery store and shared some places we should checkout in the neighboring town of Clayton.

Initially, my friends and I were a bit apprehensive about venturing out into the town. Considering we were a group of mostly African-American women in small rural North Georgia town, you might understand why. We anticipated being greeted with Trump signs and Confederate Flags on pickup trucks with gun racks. I am happy to report, our concerns were null and void. The people we met and interacted with were nothing but friendly, accommodating and excited that we had chosen their town as our Girls Trip destination.

Stay tuned for a post on the Town of Clayton and all the great things to do there, including relaxing in the Spa at The Amara Center and dining at Fortify. The staff at both were absolutely amazing! Michelle, the manager at the spa, was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The team had a meat and cheese tray and bottomless mimosas ready for us when we arrived. She also recommended Fortify Kitchen & Bar for dinner and called the manager Jack to make a reservation for my group. I left my bracelets at the spa and Michelle tracked me down and mailed them to my home. She was absolutely amazing! Dinner was FANTASTIC!

Back at the house, we enjoyed the views from the multiple decks and open space design that allowed for some serious entertaining. The unfinished basement was the size of a small apartment. It housed a pool table and a ping pong table. It was also the most convenient way to access the fire pit, one of my favorite areas of the home. On our last night at Kleinhaus Cabin, we sat around the fire and feasted on marshmallow ‘Smores.

The Pajama Party & Crab Boil

Kleinhaus Cabin was the perfect setting to celebrate my birthday with my girls. I’d love to return with my husband and some of our couples friends. Only thing missing at the home is a jacuzzi. I can imagine during the winter months how perfect that little addition would be.

Our only regret? Not staying longer at Kleinhaus Cabin.  We didn’t quite get to do everything we wanted to do while in the area. We wanted to visit the many waterfalls and hiking trails the area has to offer, but the home was so fabulous and inviting that we really didn’t want to leave.

This was truly an amazing trip with my girls. We are forever grateful to The Kleins, The Glamping Hub and the Town of Clayton for making my birthday a most memorable one. If you are looking for a secluded mountain home to spend time with family and friends. I highly recommend The Kleinhaus Cabin. It’s EVERYTHING and more ….

A girls trip is everything! I don’t think enough African-American women take enough time to pamper themselves. Thank you for showing us how it’s done.
That house is amazing. I must look into renting. The scenery is just beautiful.

I think this would make more Black women comfortable with the idea of such settings. Many of us grow up avoiding the “wilderness” at all costs. LOL. Nice.

The moment Nikki made this post, I knew this was a trip that my girlfriends and I would have to make a reality. We often talk about taking trips, but we allow life to get in the way. I’m so glad that we didn’t allow that to happen this time. Myself and five of my closest friends just returned from a weekend visit to the Kleinhaus cabin, and I must say we LOVED it!! The atmosphere was so refreshing and we allowed ourselves to leave our jobs and stress back in FL as we enjoyed our GLAMPING trip. We also had a wonderful time at The Amara Center. The ladies at that spa were simply phenomenal! They made our spa day so very special. Please make sure to visit 12 Spies winery, as well. They were so accommodating to our group during our wine tour. Ladies, do not sleep on this. You will not regret going.

I am so glad we made the decision to stay at Kleinhaus for my birthday weekend. The house was amazing and every aspect of the weekend was wonderful. The Amara Center went the extra mile to make sure the day was special and the techs were great. Our driver for the wine tour did a great job and 12 Spies was the best of the three wineries. The owner of Kleinhaus was very helpful with suggesting places to visit and services. The small-town atmosphere made us a little nervous but everyone was very friendly and we felt comfortable everywhere we went during our stay. I had an incredible birthday weekend with my girls and I would definitely visit Kleinhaus again.
