Start getting your coins ready because actress Tracee Ellis Ross has a 45-item holiday capsule collection hitting JCPenney this fall. Tracee, the daughter of fashion and music icon Diana Ross, is a 21st century style icon in my book. I am obsessed with her ability to make everything she wears look effortless yet amazing. She has the perfect combination of Old Hollywood glamour and modern style. And is an expert at mixing prints and color in the most sophisticated yet fun and approachable ways!
This news of Tracee’s collaboration with JCPenny, which launches online and in-store on November 12, is exciting for a few reasons:
- The “Black-ish” star is a former model and fashion editor who is known for her impeccable style.
- It’s in partnership with JCPenney
so it is affordable. In fact, every item costs less than $100. - The campaign and lookbook feature a refreshingly diverse group of models.
- And, most importantly, the sizes range from small to 3X.
“I’m soooooo excited to announce that I’ve partnered with JCPenney to create a holiday collection that I hope empowers women to embrace their joyful spirit. Each piece was imagined and designed by me!” wrote the Golden Globe winner when announcing the news on Instagram on October 9.
The collection boasts a wide range of items from comfy athleisure and pajamas to colorful party dresses and high-waisted trousers. But she didn’t just stop at clothing. Tracee Ellis Ross for JCPenney will also include accessories as well as home goods.
“I’ll just say that women are beautiful in all shapes and sizes and colors, so it was very important to me not only that people could have access to beauty and style and great clothes, but that they would fit and look good on everyone,” Ross told Glamour. “Just because you do it in a large size doesn’t mean it’s going to work on all body types,” she said.
Ross has been giving us a closer look at a few of her favorite items from the collection, wearing them just about everywhere. She wore the tailored, black Heaven Tux while appearing on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” and showed off the $49 pink and blue polka dot Glorious Dress while on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”
So, if you’ve always loved Tracee Ellis Ross’ style, then go ahead and mark November 12 on your calendars. This stuff might go quickly and I will be first in line and online!
