LOOKBOOK: 3 Looks For Valentine’s Day Dates

I love LOVE. And love is definitely in the air as Valentine’s Day approaches. Whether you are going out on a romantic dinner date with your significant other, enjoying some girl time over brunch or attending a play or ballet, here are three looks to inspire my fellow fashionistas.

As my followers know, I recently had a pop up shop closet sale (very successful I might add) and as a result, I found some great items that I have forgotten I owned. So I essentially shopped my closet for these looks which means many of the items featured aren’t available. Don’t fret, though. I have linked several similar items below!

Look 1: Date Nite With My Hubby

When this dress arrived in the mail from eShakti, I immediately tried it on because from the moment I saw it online, I was in love. And apparently my husband had the same reaction. While it’s not necessarily the first thing I’d pull out the closet to where on a date, my husband’s “That’s sexy!” comment when I slipped it on was indication enough that this was the dress I’d where on our dinner date. Sometimes hubby knows best. Ha!

Look 2: Brunch With My Girlfriends

I’d definitely wear this to a Valentine’s Day brunch with my besties. It’s celebratory and cute and functional. The lace dress is simply perfection, and I hate that I’ve waited more than a year to wear it. The fit is great and the straps are adjustable. I purchased it from ASOS but the brand is Boohoo. I wanted to add an additional pop of color to this already bright red look, and I think shades of turquoise provide the perfect accent. The tassel earrings and the scarf made the look complete. And the Gucci scarf comes in handy if the restaurant is a bot drafty! Functionality is important!

Look 3: Dinner & Show With Friends

Ever planned a couples or group outing on Valentine’s Day? When my husband and I lived in California, we had a group of friends that we did just about everything with. We celebrated every holiday over meals followed by movies, concerts, plays or ballets. It was our “thing”! This look is definitely one that I’d rock in this scenario. The couples in our crew were stylish going to the bathroom so there was no slacking allowed on fashion.

I am such a sucker for black and white stripes, and this frock is a fave of mine. Like the dress in look one, it’s from eShakti, one of my absolute favorite online shops. You can totally customize their clothes for the perfect fit, and all dresses and skirt have POCKETS! While this specific dress is no longer available, here is a striped on I love as well.  The jacket is from Ashley Stewart (similar here from SimplyBe) that I have had for at least 8/9 years. That’s a lot of longevity for an AS piece, I know, but you can really find some jewels from this fast fashion brand. The clutch is from African-American independent handbag designer Cameo De Bore’. They have the most unique and beautiful handmade clutch bags I’ve ever scene. Each one is made from love by Cameo, a wonderfully sweet and beautiful spirit. Be sure to check them out here.
