STYLE: Simple Shades of Grey

One of my favorite colors included in the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Fall 2016 is Sharkskin. The hue is as its name suggests is the brilliant grey color of a shark’s skin.

This sleek and contemporary take on grey allows the most conservative and non-fashion rule breaking fashionistas to wear their favorite whites well into fall and winter. Simply pair white jeans with a leather Sharkskin moto jacket and  matching boots, and no one will notice Labor Day was several months ago.

Although Sharkskin is darker than heather grey (the color of my skirt in this post), and lighter than charcoal, this look is totally inspired by the versatile color that can easily be paired with bright colors and other “new” neutrals. This look is anchored by a skirt I bought at least a year and a half ago from ELOQUII. Unfortunately, it’s sold out.

I love the fit and flair of this skirt and the white stitching detail. The fluted bottom and a form-fitting silhouette is very flattering on any body type. I paired with a classic white button down bodysuit that features fun and on-trend ruffle detailing. I bought the sweater from Target right around Christmas and it is unfortunately unavailable online. It may still be available in stores and is by the brand Xhiliration.

The sweater, (similar here) with its many simple shades of grey, adds dimension to the look and the black accessories ties it all together. I hope you like this complete outfit from head to toe as much as I do, and are inspired to add a little Sharkskin to your closet!
