STYLE: Carnival!

It’s Caribbean Carnival season all across the states and right here in Atlanta! Each year over the Memorial Day weekend, Caribbean organizations host their local versions of Carnival, sharing a slice of Caribbean culture with the masses. I absolutely LOVE the people, sites, the sounds, the culture of the Caribbean and grew up in Florida listening to reggae and soca music thanks in part to the influence of my Jamaican stepdad. I even used to dabble a bit in singing with a local reggae band back in the early 2000s, and am  definitely the person that my full-bloodied, born and raised in America friends seek out to translate the lyrics to some of their favorite reggae and soca tunes!

So when I saw this lovely colorful striped set from Eloquii, it immediately reminded me of  Carnival season. The ruffled off the shoulder crop top and midi length circle skirt is a perfect look for a festive day! This ensemble just makes me happy!

I am so impressed at how Eloquii is getting it RIGHT with its selection of fun, flirty and trendy wear. It’s also a great place to find amazing ready for work/professional items. I have yet to make a bad purchase from Eloquii in over 6 months. Finally a retailer that offers the perfect combination of work/life fashions for the curvy girl.

Top: Here | Skirt: Here | Shoes: Here | Bag: Here

This top is 30% off and the skirt is on sale for $39 marked down from $89.90. That’s a steal!

One of my absolute favorite soca artists is Alison Hinds and her tune Roll It Gal always puts me in the Carnival spirit. Check out this video and song here, and commence to winding and rolling your waist!

As always, thanks for stopping by the blog and have a blessed weekend! I’m a guest speaker this weekend at the launch of CurVana, a new organization for the curvy fashionista. I will share my experience and all about the event here on NikkiFreeStyle.com next week. Wish me luck!
